Zero knowledge is a liability, not a virtue. A market moving two percent in a single session is a significant variance event. When two names account for roughly a fifth of the entire index capitalization, the cause is usually concentrated. The question is not whether these two companies moved the tape — that is a mechanical certainty. The question is what structural conditions made the move possible, and more importantly, what they signal about the fragility of the Korean equity market as a vehicle for foreign capital.

Let me be precise about what this report does not contain. It does not contain trading volume. It does not contain foreign investor net buying figures. It does not contain the advance-decline ratio. The youth unemployment rate in Korea is roughly double the overall unemployment rate. High-tech semiconductor jobs require specific skills and are not a labor market solution for the broader population. The semiconductor boom does not automatically reduce youth unemployment.
